Returns and Refunds
At Parliament Shop, we are happy to offer you a refund, credit or exchange for change of mind on full price merchandise or if an item is defective or damaged. The following change of mind timeframes apply:
- In store: 30 days from date of purchase
- Online (Australia): 30 days from date of delivery
If more than 30 days has passed since your purchase, unfortunately we won’t be able to offer you a refund or exchange.

Faulty and damaged products
When returning or exchanging a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, Parliament Shop will arrange return postage on your behalf or refund postage costs upon presentation of receipt/s.
You may either bring your item/s back to us in person to the Parliament Shop or post it back. Please do not post an item back without first contacting us. Contact us at parliament.shop@aph.gov.au or phone us on (02) 6277 5050. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package.
Change of mind
Changed your mind? To be eligible for a refund or exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, in its original packaging and contain the receipt or proof of purchase.
If you would like to exchange your item and the cost of the exchange item is more than the cost of the item you are returning, you will have to pay the difference; if it is less, we will refund you the difference.

Please note that we will not pay the return delivery cost you incur for change of mind returns and exchanges.
Returning gifts
You may be eligible to return or exchange a gift purchased for you from Parliament Shop. The same conditions apply to returning a gift as apply to change of mind (see above). The value of the gift item will be the value of that product at the time of exchange. If you wish to exchange it for an item of greater value, you will have to pay the difference.
If you have a receipt or dispatch confirmation email, please supply this to us.

Refunds
Refunds will be made to the credit or debit card account used to place the order.
Exceptions/non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (food/drink) and personal care goods (beauty products, earrings and socks). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Cancelled orders
If you wish to cancel your order, let us know by emailing us on parliament.shop@aph.gov.au or calling us on (02) 6277 5050. If your order has not been processed and posted, we will cancel your order and refund the full amount including any shipping charges. If your order has already been posted, you will be refunded when the product is returned to us. We are not obliged to give you a refund until we receive the products back. We will refund charges you paid to have the item delivered to you, but not the costs you incur in sending the products back to us.
