Description
Yalook, meaning river or creek in the Waddawurrung/Wathaurong language, is a hand-crafted glass platter created using traditional kiln-forming (slumping) techniques. The platter is adorned with Aboriginal motifs that reflect the cultural significance.
About the supplier:
Wathaurong Glass and Arts is a 100% Aboriginal owned enterprise in Geelong, blending traditional Aboriginal art with modern kiln-formed glass. Formed in 1998 under the Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative, it provides employment and training for local First Nations people. The studio creates architectural glass, retail glass art, awards and corporate gifts using kiln-slumping and sandblasting techniques.
