Miniature Glass Eel Trap

$540.00 AUD
Description

A hand blown glass miniature Eel Trap with canework designed by renowned artist Jennifer Kemarre Martiniello.

This glass miniature is a representation of Indigenous woven baskets used to trap eels. The funnel shape of the basket would ensure smaller eels could slip through and larger eels be harvested.

The glass miniature was hand blown employing caneworking techniques to form intricate weaving-like patterns. The patterns emulate the looping stitches, coils and long weaves of woven vessels.
