About the artist:
Glenys James is a Tjanpi Desert Weaver — one of over 400 Aboriginal women artists who transform native grasses into extraordinary fibre art. Based in the NPY Lands, Glenys draws on the skills passed down through generations, creating works that reflect deep cultural knowledge, connection to Country, and joyful self-expression.
Tjanpi (meaning 'wild grass' in Pitjantjatjara) is an Indigenous-governed social enterprise that supports women in remote communities to earn income on Country through fibre art.
